When you visit my blog you will find me blogging about the things I love;applique', crochet, quilting, photography, cooking, my three grandsons and my granddaughter.
Betsy sent me this panel sometime ago. I'm ready to start on it and I'm having some trouble deciding. What color backing should I use? I was thinking either black or purple. I'm also thinking of doing mock applique' to kinda take away from the panel look. What do you think?
Cindy I never worry too much about the back fabric too much but I think some prairie points on the border would be real nice with maybe a crochet trim next to it.Maybe in teal or fuschia. Also, once you quilt it some embellishing would look cute or some poinsettias made from the flowers you create.
I think Betsy has some good ideas for you. I'm one who only worries about the backing on quilted things I make reversible (like some of my table runners and placemats). Otherwise, pretty much anything goes for backings around here!

I think it is adorable and is a good idea to do the mock quilting.....
