Shopping

Nice little shopping trip yesterday. Oh and it was a beautiful sunny day.

6 tea towels, 6 hand towels that I will embroidery on. Cotton for dish cloths, sticky stabilizer to use with the fluffy hand towels, regular stabilizer, potpourii and a basket that I had to have.

Where am I today? I'm sewing, cutting, stuffing and embroidering.

Happy stitching!

Border or no border

I've noticed some other bloggers asking for help so thought I would also. I'm making a little quilt to hang on my front door. I want to embroidery Davis at the top and est. 1981 at the bottom. So here is my dilema, do I add a border and what color?

The colors are pretty accurate.

Lacy and I are off to do a little shopping this morning at Jo Ann's and Hobby Lobby. I need tea towels, hand towels and stabilizers. I'm sure we will force ourselves to look at fabric, thread and buttons. Oh well, a girl has to do what a girl has to do.

Happy stitching!

P.S. High temp yesterday was 51 and sunny. I was a happy camper! :)

Watch your back, Rudolph!

There is a new reindeer in town.

Stay warm!

Monday, February 15, 2010

and then there was 12......

......12 " of snow. People in Texas don't know how to drive in the snow unless they live in the Panhandle. Thursday we got 12" and that is a lot of snow for people in our area. I'm just thankful I didn't get the snow that Pat or Toni got.

Stay warm and stitch the day away!

Cuteness

We live on the 4th floor of a senior complex. Yes, there are elevators but we live at the far end of the hall. I was killing myself carrying the groceries and things into the apt. I either had to overload myself or make lots of trips. Monday in the gift shop there was a man selling these carts and Hubbykins got one.

Our monkey immediately crawled into the cart.
Have a great weekend!

3 little boys

Tuesday I worked on Lacy's little wall hanging. Today in the light blue I'm going to embroidery the boys' name and the year they were born. I'm thinking I will use red so it will pop.

I'm going to spend the day sewing since we are getting snow.
Happy quilting!

Sewing kinda

Sunday night I could hardly sleep because Monday was finally sewing day. I was making all these plans on the things I was going to work. I rushed around Monday morning picking up, cooking breakfast, getting dressed and then the phone rang. I should have just let it go to voicemail. Whoever said "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" is full of pooey. My day was ruined. Everything I needed to sew with wasn't where I thought it was. I didn't break one needle I broke 3. I sat and cried looking at my embroidery machine for a bit and I said loudly "I will sew and the rest of the world can jump off a cliff."

Well this certainly isn't the prettiest thing I've ever made but I FINALLY got to sew. You can see on one of the strawberries I clipped to closely so I have to figure out how to sew it down.

Tuesday was a wonderful sewing day and I can't wait to get to continue working on it.

As you read this I'm on a little road trip to see my mom, she just isn't getting over breaking her ribs very well at all.

Happy Wednesday!

Lacy

Lacy is being admitted this morning for an induction. Hopefully our new little boy will be here sometime today. Please keep the mommy and baby in your prayers.

I'm sure I will be a wreck all day as I was with Lacy when Nikolas and Greg was born but today I will be with Nikolas and Greg so Lacy doesn't have to worry about them.

Pictures coming soon.

WOW

Since I last blogged (1 month ago) so much has happened and there has been no sewing.

I moved from TN to TX. Moving is always so much fun. NOT!! Some of our furniture was damaged so we are waiting on the claim check to arrive AND some of our boxes were unloaded at someone else's home. Thank goodness they don't sew nor did they want little boy toys. Those things should arrive this next week.

Hubby got sick and the doctors still don't know what is causing his problem. Yes, I'm annoyed with the doctors and I'm starting to give them the look that let's them know I'm annoyed. Hubby is suffering and pain medication does not heal it hides. Hubby can not walk and can barely stand. Thank goodness a neighbor had an extra power scooter and loaned it to Hubby. The little boys love riding with Popa. Greg got the job of honking the horn. lol I'm sure my neighbors are not impressed.

My mother had a flair up with her heart and was in the hospital for several days. Two weeks later she fell breaking several ribs and has now been in the hospital for a week.

The little boys are such sharing little people, they had the crud and shared it with me. I'm sure I have coughed up a lung.

Nikolas turned 3 and Greg turned 1 a week later so they had a birthday party together. Nikolas cried every time someone sang "happy birthday". hmmm, what was up with that? What a party it was also. Both boys received tons and tons of clothes, shoes, boots, jammies and toys. Uncle Mike cooked chicken, steak and hot dogs on the grill. I made potatoe salad using a 10 lb bag of potatoes. Jess brought a Mickey Mouse pinata that was almost as tall as me. Did I mention there was also cake? There was 16 (no that is not a typo) kids at the party. WHEW!! Popa and I took a nap after the party, we were exhausted. lol

Greg with his smash cake.

And someone just had to smash Greg's face into his cake. Lacy is still seeing red over this.

We think he was trying to get into some of the gifts.

Tony, Nikolas and Kaleb.
Big news tomorrow. Happy sewing!
