Hats Hats and More Hats

I wanted to make hats for charity. I was going to make them for babies but the area hospital only wants purple hats and a list of of other things the hats could not have. The list was so disheartening. I had made a few hats before I found the info out so I will just give them away to whoever needs them
I don't make very good tassels. Some Daddy will think the camo with the pink bow is perfect for his baby girl. I thought it was cute.

This is my favorite hat. Probably will fit an older baby.

Lacy is working with her church, a lady from the American Legion and the Dallas VA to help the homeless veterans in our area. I was shocked at the number of homeless veterans.  They will be having a food drive gathering cans of food that does not require a can opener and bottles of water, juice, etc. I wanted to do something to support this cause so I am making hats.

If you would like to help with this cause, please contact me at csd.9013@yahoo.com

Happy Easter!

January 2013

More hand embroidery. My machine died that had the needle up down and the speed control. I tried working on and finally took it to the shop. I'm not paying that to have it fixed. :( Yes, I can do some applique' on my older machine, it just can't be too complicated.

I made a test block to make sure my hex and embroidery would fit on the size block Linda and I worked out. I turned it into a pillow for Jon.

A mini quilt to hang beside the front door. Yes, that it is lots and lots of french knots.

This little bag is for Chelsi's Sunday school teacher.

I just love the design on this pillow. Makes me smile every time I look at it. This pillow is going to Lacy's.
Until next time.

December Embroidery

I wanted to learn some new embroidery stitches and the first one was a french knot. So for practice I made Lacy this little heart.

Then I couldn't stop.
That's a terrible picture maybe you can tell what I did.

Candy, teapots and Christmas

December was another busy month but not so much sewing.

There was candy to be made for the grands which got me lots of hugs and chocolatey kisses. Popa unwrapped 80 kisses for the candy.

I caught up on my teapots.
I thought the December teapot needed Christmas fabric.
I made a Christmas tree.
I won this Christmas mug rug from Rhonda.
I did this embroidery and then put it into a bag.
I have more but this post was getting photo heavy. I gotta come up with a better plan.

November 2012

November was a busy month. I had to get four quilts finished. I was so relieved and tired when I finished the last quilt. Since then I have been taking things kinda slow, I am keeping up with my BOW that Rhonda is hosting.

BOW

Block #7 is embroidered but I have not sewn the attic window on to it.

I made the boys pillow cases. This had to be the easiest pattern for pillow cases.
Moda Turnover
I was looking for something one day and this Moda Turnover that I have had forever and remembered a tutorial I had saw using the turnovers, she used a charm pack and cut them in half. Well I had to make one. I need at least one more package of turnovers for the center of the quilt. This will be Chelsi's Christmas quilt next year. I think I've had the turnovers for two years so I hope I can find more.

If you look on the right side of the photo you can see the backing I used for this quilt.

Aiden's

Greg's
I like the back of Greg's quilt as well as I do the front.
I'm kinda at a crossroad about blogging and I'm not sure how or if I will continue. I do enjoy recording my doings.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
