Boot Bash June BOM

Molly had a flag on her June block but I haven't decided if I want a flag yet. I can always go back and add it. For some reason I didn't take a photo of my boo by it's self.

Here is Lacy's boot.
Both boots.
You know I sewed the six boots together. I couldn't help myself.

My boots
Lacy's boots
I think these quilts are going to be fantastic.

All BOM blocks for the month of June are DONE!!!

Be Attitude June BOM

I finished the Be Respectful block Sunday morning and I think it is too cute.
I don't adjust the width or length of the stitch unless it is a small piece. I got to thinking about it when I was making this block. I hope the stitches will hold. Lacy plans to hang this quilt on the wall. You can see the difference in the stitches in the next photo.
Here are the first two rows sewn together.
I said I have 5 BOM blocks to do. Well, I can't count I had 6. So now 2 done 4 to go.

Happy stitching!

The Dance

In my early twenties I loved to dance. I really loved to dance in 3 inch heels. Its a wonder I didn't break my neck. Oh but I was young and what could happen. lol

Many years ago a man asked me to go dancing with him. I told him I would but I wanted him to know up front that I was not looking for a husband and I certainly was not looking for a husband that was a truck driver. Shortly there after we were married.

Happy 30th anniversary, Hubbykins!

Be Attitude May BOM

I got started early Friday morning working on the May Be Attitude block. My machine gave me fits, the tension was terrible. I changed the needle, I changed the needle size, I cleaned the machine, I changed to a different brand of thread, I changed the bobbin. Nothing was working. I was about ready to throw my hands up in the air when I decided I would re-clean the machine. As I was re-threading the bobbin I saw a tiny piece of lint in the track where the thread would go. The lint was so tiny I could not grip it with my fingers so I used my hemastats. When I got the lint out there was also a tiny piece of plastic, like what is wrapped around thread. Thank goodness my machine purred like a kitten the rest of the day.

Here is May's block.
I started adding buttons.
1 1/2 blocks done, 3 1/2 to go. WOOHOO!!

Happy stitching!

Sick

Yes, I have been sick, however, that isn't  what I'm sick of.

I'm making the third Victorian Cape and I'm sick of making them. I still have one more to make but I can take a break after this one.

Why am I telling you this? Well, if I tell you then I might feel the need to work on it more faster because I will want to show you my progress.

Here is what I have done after two week. I know I haven't been putting much time and effort into the little cape.

I like trains

Nikolas has never saw a train that he didn't love. He can tell you what kind all the different trains cars and knows the names of all the trains on Thomas the trains. Doesn't that mean he needs a train quilt?

Well, of course it does. I had searched high and low for fabric of Thomas the train. It was all very expensive. However one morning I checking things out over at Inch Worm Fabric and what did I find at a better than wonderful price? Yep, Thomas the train fabric. Jeannette had 3 yards and I got it all at that price. So now maybe I'm back on track (pun intended) to making a train quilt.

You get a free fat qtr if you spend $10. I love the fat qtr I got.
I had started the train quilt some time back. I thought I wanted to do it as a row by row. No, all other rows will be individual blocks sewn together. After doing the one row I got discouraged and laid it aside. Then I found another train applique' pattern and I found a train engine that would be applique'd on my embroidery machine.

Bow test

I've been playing around making bows to put on the bassinette. Some of them didn't turn out so good so I took them apart and the fabric went into my scrap bag. I found a tutorial while searching by Dana made it. Easy pesy.

It is rather large but I think it would be easier to make smaller.

Aiden's gift to Chelsi

Aiden gave Chelsi 3 burp pads. I used 3 different patterns as I was looking for the best pattern.
The owl burp pad was the only one I made with different fabric.

I think I like the size and shape of this one best.

Greg's gift to Chelsi

As you know I made things for the boys to give to Chelsi at the baby shower. Greg gave Chelsi a changing pad and a wipe/diaper case.

The changing pad is reversible.

The wipe/diaper case holds a travel size wipe case and 2 diapers.

Nikolas's gift to Chelsi

I made somethings for each of the boys to give to Chelsi at the baby shower. Nikolas picked first. I had to break it up into different post because there were lots of photos.

This is the back of the dress.
I had never done pleats before. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! It took me an hour and a half to do that little skirt. I'm not sure I will be doing that again.

Happy quilting!

Baby Shower

Yesterday was Lacy's baby shower. So many cute baby things.

Have some punch, cake or stawberries dipped in vanilla bean dip.

Betsy sent the items under Lacy's hands.

My mother sent this.

I'm sorry I don't remember who gave the other items.
These are teeny tiny pants.
I was exhausted after the shower. Thank goodness I cooked supper before we went.

Manic Monday Winner

Toni has Manic Monday where she gives away something from her stash. I was the lucky winner for the month of May. YAY me!! Thanks, Toni.

I borrowed Toni's photos since my camera refused to take a pic that didn't glare.
I hope to get this made before autumn, not that we have autumn in Texas. lol

Octopus Quilt

I got busy on the octopus quilt. The little boys showed up as I was cutting out the octopus. I won't even try to spell the way Greg pronounced octopus. lol Aiden stood in a chair so he could see what was going on. Greg asked me "what doin', GranGran?" I replied "making a mess". Greg threw his hands to his face and run off screaming "GranGran is making a mess." lol I bet that boy can't keep a secret. :)

Saturday morning all I had to do was sandwich, baste and quilt. I put everything away at 3:30 pm and the quilt went into the washer. I was so pleased to be finished.

Barb's pattern is easy follow and I love the way she did the designs. My quilt is not exactly like Barb's because I made a cutting error and then I had to correct it. This link will take you to Barb's patterns that are for sell. I hope Barb will design more.

I took lots of photos I wanted everyone to see the details.

I think Chelsi will like it.

Happy quilting!!
