I Believe

I finished my I Believe quilt and this is my last finish for 2011. I wish I had finished more but it is what it is. I couldn't decide how to quilt this or what color thread to use, so I just kept it simple.

Be Attitude September BOM

Yes, I know it is December which means I am many months behind on my BOMs.
This is one of my favorite blocks and I think it is because of the vibrant colors and the way I used the same fabric on the left side and across the bottom.

Here it is so far.
I hope to get more blocks finished before the end of the year. I think Lacy will be happy with this quilt. Then I will finish the Boot Bash quilts.

Happy stitching!

Lazy Heart BOM December

I finally had a chance to applique' the Lazy Heart block for Dec.
The more I worked on these blocks the more excited I got. This has been a fun BOM.

Here is Lacy's top.
And mine.
I can't wait to go get backing for the quilts. They finished at 29 1/2" x 37 3/4". I think I will add an outer border.

Thanks, Rhonda, for a great BOM.

Potholders

I found this great pattern for a potholder. I had some scraps of cotton yarn so I started it, then I decided I was doing it wrong and dropped it in my yarn bag. Some time later Barb and I got to chatting through email and she mentioned a pattern. While the patterns were the same they were a little different. After reading the pattern Barb was following I realized I was doing the potholder correctly and finished it.

Same potholder just different sides.

I love this potholder. Just the right size and double thickness.

So I made Lacy some plus a dish cloth. Yes, there are 2 that I made out of acrylic yarn. They will be fine as I have some made out of acrylic that I have had for nearly 30 yrs.

I love mindless crocheting so I decided I would make some to sell. $6 each plus shipping.

November Lazy Heart BOM

I've had the hearts fused on the background for about a week. I would go back and forth trying to decide to put the owl or use this design from Embroidery Library. Finally, I called in backup and a decision was made. Whew! I love this block! Only 1 more block to complete this BOM.

Did you see the turkey?

I'm not to sure about two orange blocks side by side.

A Bag

I was going to make a bag for myself but I messed up so I cut that part off, then the bag was too small for me. So the bag will go to a neighbor's grand daughter.

Here is the first Christmas outfit I crocheted for Chelsi.

More outfits for Chelsi

Lacy bought a romper for Chelsi, it was so cute. I went searching for a tutorial to make one as patterns are very expensive. I found a great romper tutorial at The Little Giggler. Amanda has some other tutorials I will be trying.
Since I misjudged how much fabric was needed I had enough to make Chelsi a jumper.

Lazy Hearts BOM August

Rhonda just continues to tickle me with this BOM. I did change mine up quite a bit. Barb cut the leaves and acorns on her GO cutter thingie.

When I got the blocks done I felt like it still needed something. Soooooooo I went to my embroidery designs.
I loved the little spider. lol

Then I added sashings.

Only 2 more BOMs.

Aiden and Chelsi

Don't tell Aiden he was sleeping that close to Chelsi, he thinks he will catch girl cooties. I wish all of you could see Aiden's hair, he has the prettiest hair.
Today is a great day, I have the embroidery machine going and I'm sewing.

Have a great day!

Lazy Heart BOM September

I definitely made this month's block my own. When I started tracing the heart I remember I had a hummingbird design for my embroidery machine.
Then I thought of these flowers.

Then I got brave and enlarged the flowers and flipped one of the hummingbirds plus I enlarge the little bird.

Table topper

While I should have been working on my BOMs this morning, I wasn't. I thought the boys needed a Halloween topper but I'm very unhappy with it. I did the envelope method and quilted it with loops and squiggles. Why won't it lay down on the edges? Did I quilt to close to the edges?

I like this side the best.
The boys will probably like this side best.

Fall Mini

I finished the fall mini. Nice kit. There is enough fabric for the pieces to do another mini, I just need to find background and backing fabric.
I won this kit from Toni on her Maniac Monday. Thanks, Toni.

How much?

I joined a challenge on Facebook. If you facebook and would like to join it is Kimberly Crenshaw's Divine Inspirations. Here are the rules:

Starting today, do at least 15 minutes worth of work on your project(s), then post here in this thread what you did (you may want to wait to post late in the day, in case you find more time later on). Post pics if you have them (you'll have to post the pics to your own profile, then include the link from your browser's address bar in your post). Have fun everyone!

Of course, I signed up. I love sewing and sewing normally makes me smile. However, someday I'm just lazy tired and need a push. I've done my 15 minutes today and that is all I did but it is not my fault. Barb and Lacy made me stop sewing today.

Oh you are wondering how Barb and Lacy made me stop sewing? They wouldn't stop talking about the book The Help. I picked up my copy at Walmart
Anyway, how much do you sew in a day? Do you sew everyday? Inquiring minds want to know. OK, just me.

Have a great day!

Gown

I found this tutorial for a gown at Banana Bear Blog and I thought Chelsi needed it. I will be making more for her. I'm not sure what size she wears, preemie is a little small and newborn is huge on her.
I'm working on getting caught up. Be Prayerful is ready to be stitched and Lazy hearts needs to be fused. Today is another day and more sewing time.

Have a great day!!
