New hand project

I found my next project at pinterest.com. Seriously, I can never die or I will leave a lot of projects un-done. lol I have always wanted to learn to applique' by hand and when I saw this project/tutorial from the Purl bee I felt like it was a great first hand project.

So I got my circles stitched.
Pressed my circles onto the background and I pinned them also like they suggested.
I matched thread to my circles because I thought I was suppose to do it that way. Then I re-read the tutorial and they used thread that matched the background. Guess I should have re-read the tutorial before I started my first circle.

As you can see, you can see my stitches. I know I'm learning and practice makes perfect but still I wanted it to look better. Click photo for larger photo and you can see the red arrows. I started at the arrow on the right of the circle and stopped at the arrow on the left side.
I'm not giving up and one thing about this project if it turns out badly I can pick it out and applique' it on the machine.

Hexie Love - mug rug

Hexie Love is coming to an end. My next hexie project I'm trying to use up all the hexies that were left over from the star.

I kept seeing all these adorable mug rugs so I used some of my leftovers and made one for me. I will be making more. Mine finished at 12" x 6 1/2".

These are so fast and fun!

Poor Chelsi and a rant

Poor Chelsi, you know, she is a princess and she was having to cover up with a boy blanket. For shame! So her mommy purchased 2 yds of flannel. I serged the edges and called them finished. I'm sure she slept better last night.
Now for the rant.

If you purchase 2 one yard cuts of fabric you would think they would be the same length. This burns me!
And this.
Really? Take some pride in your work.

September is nearly over which means Christmas is creeping upon us. I have 5 quilts to quilt, one of which is not finished and 4 pillows to paper piece. I need to get busy. So if you need me I will be seeing how fast I can make my machine go.

Have a great weekend!

Hexie Love

Finally I am showing you the finished Hex Star. The star measures 29 3/4" from point to point and used 73 hexagons.
I still need to add the star blossoms and the hex border. Here is one star blossom.

Chelsi's Tea Party 3

I think I have enough tea cups applique'd so I can seriously start thinking about the layout.

I thought the little princess needed a gold trimmed tea cup.

I'm sure Chelsi would want her Dad to have a tea cup.

Hexie Love

This was suppose to be a small project, the butterfly is 16" x 11", then I added the border.
I think I will make a small wall hanging as I'm not sure I want to make any more butterflies.

Tea Towel

Rhonda at Ravelly1 had a give away to kick off her Tea Time Teapot BOM. I was so pleased to win the towel, I just love it.
If you are interested in the Tea Time Teapot BOM, August was the first month so you have time to get that one done before September's block.

Hexie Love

I was wrong, I did not have enough fillers made. I think I need ten more.
I think I need a half flower on the right below the grayish flower and above the pink flower.

I got those made.
I took another photo from a different angle as I wanted you to see the true colors.
It measures 31" x 38 1/2". It looks good on my red sheets and I tried a white background and a grey. I'm thinking black.
