As soon as I finished the St. Bartholomew shawl, I started looking for another project. Surely you didn't think I was going to hold my hands while watching TV. No can do!
So I rushed to Ravelry to see if there were any new patterns and of course I found another shawl pattern. It's just a triangle - shawl pattern by laughing purple goldfish designs. I grabbed a skein of Blushing Baby and Cream yarn by Caron's Simply Soft. I really need to stay off that website, I'm sure I would get more accomplished.
This is about half finished.
Happy stitching!

St Bartholomew Crochet Shawl
I finished the St Bartholomew Crochet shawl Sunday night at 10:20. I was so excited to see it finished and I can't wait to see it being worn by the new owner. It feels so good to finish a gift.
The color of this shawl made me very nervous, I was so afraid something was going to get spilled on it. I know I could have washed it but I couldn't help but worry.

A finish
Remember me showing you this photo where I ran out of yarn for the fringe.
Well, Hobby Lobby didn't have anymore of the yarn but my neighbor did, a never used skein. I owe her big time! She let me have what I needed.

So now I have this!
This is a terrible picture but I wanted you to see how long the shawl and fringe is. Keep in mind I'm only 5' 1/2" tall.
Happy stitching!
Edit: I live in a apt complex with a total of 196 apts. we moved here Jan 15th and I met Mrs. Hayworth the day I went searching for the yarn. I guess we both have good taste in yarn.

Shawl finished
Finally got the needed skein of yarn and worked furiously to finish it. Now why I thought I needed a shawl is beyond me, I have no idea where I will wear it since it is just a tad chilly for anything less than a parka. ;) I did decide to put fringe on this since I had a couple of mentions of putting fringe on the first shawl I made. Then I found this edging and I liked it better so maybe or maybe not next shawl will have fringe. :P
I've been looking at patterns to decide if there is something small I want to start when I finish this. So far nothing is jumping out at me.

Keeping busy

We have been at the doctor's everyday this week. Unless Greg decides to come on his own today we have no where to go. YAY!!!! I've been taking my crochet with me because I totally hate sitting and waiting. I now have 49 3/4 rows done on my shawl and I ran out of crimson thread. So I have laid that aside until I can pick up some more. Probably should try it on and then make a decision about more yarn.

Yesterday Lacy sent me this link and told me she would rather have this than a shawl. Lacy's shaw was going to be made using the pink and white self striping yarn. I'm going to take Lacy's laptop away from her. ;) So I guess that will be my next big project.

Shawl progress report
I have 40 rows done on my shawl.
For some reason, I thought that the shawl would only consist of 56 rows, now I'm thinking I was wrong. Never having made this shawl I was just guessing. I had originally thought I would do 10 rows crimson, 5 rows ivory, 10 rows crimson, 5 rows ivory, 15 rows crimson, 10 rows ivory, etc etc. Now I'm thinking I will just stick to the 10 rows crimson and 5 rows ivory.

More yarn!!!!
Lacy is addicted to yarn. I'm so glad since she let's me play with the yarn. This is the yarn she bought for dish cloths.
That's a lot of dish cloths. Then she bought this crimson and ivory for me to make myself a shawl.
She knows I love red!
She got the strawberry stripes because she just loves pink, it is self striping. Lacy bought all of this to make hats for the boys.
I think she has decided to go back and get more of the bright stripes and make blanket.

Half Granny Square shawl

I found this link on Ravelry. I love all the patterns and blogs that I can find at Ravelry. The link for this pattern took me to Ambar's webpage. Lots of goodies over there and when Ambar found out I was having difficulty she contacted me. Now how sweet was that? Now that I know what I was doing wrong this is so easy and I can do it without thinking. I love making things that I don't have to continuously count. I am already planning the next shawl using self striping yarn. FUN FUN!! Lacy thinks I should make summer shawls using this pattern also. We will see.
I didn't put much fringe on shawl because I wasn't sure who I would give the shawl to and I didn't want them to be overwhelmed with fringe being in their way.
