Snowball quilt
I started quilting the Snowball quilt Sunday morning. I used a design that came with my embroidery machine. Each design takes 3 minutes. Then I had to walk back into the dining area so I could re-hoop the next block. Hubbykins said I probably spent more time walking back and forth and re-hooping.
Here is a close-up of the design.
The back of the quilt shows that the quilting needed something else but I didn't know what else so I washed and dried it.
Should I have connected the designs with cross hatching?

Let's play Cowboys and Indians
Betsy sent this pattern to me. The pattern called for 5 of each. Lacy wanted 4 to represent her 4 children. I will not make the 4th tepee, star, cowboy or Indian until after March 3rd. Lacy is going for a ultrasound on the 3rd and if by chance the baby is a girl the remaining blocks will be pink.
I have my strips cut for sashing but I can't sew those unless I need to add pink. I guess this quilt is on hold until after March 3rd.

Sunbonnet Sue
I've had this book probably for 10 yrs. I've made a few of the quilts in it but never the one on the cover. That quilt was the entire reason I purchased the book. I started the quilt finally. My background will be ivory and navy and I'm not sure about the borders. I know the something will not be red or pink.
The pattern actually calls for 12 finished blocks 10 x 12, I'm doing 9 blocks that size as I don't need another twin quilt.
I like the navy and ivory backgrounds. I'm not working on this quilt very fast and I'm OK with that.

Friday
I don't know why my post for Friday will not show up on Google Blogger but I did blog. Has anyone else been having problems?
Lazy Heart Feb Blocks
Rhonda released the Feb Lazy Heart block early but I was beginning to to think I was never going to get a chance to do mine. The first block is Lacy's and the second one is mine. Fun stuff!
Rhonda used wool for heart. hmm I think I better look at wool next time I venture out.
Here is Jan and Feb blocks together.

Pretty Quilting
I can honestly say I tried numerous times to free motion quilting. Either I'm not very talented or my machines hate me. Which ever the case may be, I'm OK with the fact that I can't free motion quilt.
I can still have quilts with pretty quilting. I can use my high tech tools and my embroidery machine. Yes, that's right. I can purchase quilting designs for my embroidery machine and my machine came with 3. So I will work from those embroidery quilting designs and add to it if I so desire to make pretty quilting.
Can you see where I haven't pulled off the Press n Seal Wrap? I read on the internet that you hoop the Press n Seal and it will hold your quilt. Smart, uh? Yes, it did work.
I can also use my high tech tool to make pretty quilting.
Yes, it is a cardboard circle that I used on my topper. Then I stitch using my guide thing.
Here is another high tech tool I used. Yes, that is painter's tape.
It leaves no residue on the quilt which makes me smile. I only leave the tape on the quilt long enough to get my pattern started and then I pull it off.

String Quilt Quilting
I started quilting the string pieced quilt this morning. Not a pretty site. I worked and worked trying to get the tension right. Plus my stitches looked horrible.
It just wasn't getting any better.
Finally, I said enough.
I picked out part of the horrible quilting and saved as much of the quilt as I could and made something else.

Aiden's Farm Quilt
Finally, this quilt top is finished. I think it turned out too cute, even if I do say so myself. It seems like it took forever to finish. I've added it to my list to be quilted as I want to do a little practicing before I quilt it. I do not want a repeat of what happened with My Flower Garden. So the next time you see this quilt it will be quilted and the binding will be on.
I took a close-up of his name.

A giveaway
Snowball
I decided I would make the new baby a snowball quilt. Making the blocks was easy peasy but putting the rows together seriously reminded me why I don't like quilts that are in a straight line and have to be lined up. I love applique and can put an applique quilt together and never give it a thought.
Yes, I know I took the picture at an angle, I was trying to hide my mistakes.
