Thread

See this thread?

Well, last week I decorated one of my crazy quilt blocks using this thread. The thread broke a bazillion times. I just thought I had the tension set wrong. I tried to use the thread when I embroidered on a bath towel and once again the thread broke a bazillion times. Had to use my favorite cuss word a bazillion times but it wasn't my fault.

Where is that thread now?

In the trash!
Edit: The name of this thread is Hilo Seda. I have about 10 more spools of this thread and they are fine. I think they particular spool was bad. The thread is manufactored in England, if I am remembering correctly.

Happy stitching!

Cindy did you share the name of the thread so we do not buy it.

I have had that happen too. A quilter named Kathy Sanbach used a liquid silicone for the threads to lubricate them and they would break less. Never found it in the small shps but maybe in a sewing machine shop that sells fancy threads. If it were me I would complain to the company. I know when you have trouble like that it leaves a bad taste in your mouth on using it again. Chris

Is it metallic? I have a friend who said if she uses a metallic needle, she no longer has trouble with those kinds of threads. I bought a pack of those needles but have never tried them with a metallic thread yet.

I've had Evil Thread too - the old EternaSilk was truly awful! (I finished the Angel of Hope for my in-laws, and put the rest in the trash immediately. Never, ever again!)

Glad you only had one bad apple in the spool-bunch!
