Towel Swap 2012

I'm putting together applique' towel swap. You just can't have too many cute towels made by quilting friends.

Below you will find the guidelines and the available months. Since December is so busy we will vote if we should start it in January or February.

Make 12 towels that reflect your month (think of themes, seasonal, holidayish) – 11 towels you will mail, keeping one for yourself . If we get 13 swappers, we will add a Birthday Month swapper. I’ll explain that later if we get 13 swappers.

Potholders

I found this great pattern for a potholder. I had some scraps of cotton yarn so I started it, then I decided I was doing it wrong and dropped it in my yarn bag. Some time later Barb and I got to chatting through email and she mentioned a pattern. While the patterns were the same they were a little different. After reading the pattern Barb was following I realized I was doing the potholder correctly and finished it.

Same potholder just different sides.

I love this potholder. Just the right size and double thickness.

So I made Lacy some plus a dish cloth. Yes, there are 2 that I made out of acrylic yarn. They will be fine as I have some made out of acrylic that I have had for nearly 30 yrs.

I love mindless crocheting so I decided I would make some to sell. $6 each plus shipping.

November Lazy Heart BOM

I've had the hearts fused on the background for about a week. I would go back and forth trying to decide to put the owl or use this design from Embroidery Library. Finally, I called in backup and a decision was made. Whew! I love this block! Only 1 more block to complete this BOM.

Did you see the turkey?

I'm not to sure about two orange blocks side by side.

Happy quilting!

A Bag

I was going to make a bag for myself but I messed up so I cut that part off, then the bag was too small for me. So the bag will go to a neighbor's grand daughter.

Christmas Outfit #1

Here is the first Christmas outfit I crocheted for Chelsi.

Plus she needed a matching headband with a flower.
If you enlarge the photos you can see that the yarn has shiny threads in it.

More outfits for Chelsi

Lacy bought a romper for Chelsi, it was so cute. I went searching for a tutorial to make one as patterns are very expensive. I found a great romper tutorial at The Little Giggler. Amanda has some other tutorials I will be trying.
Since I misjudged how much fabric was needed I had enough to make Chelsi a jumper.
Happy sewing!
