My Flower Garden
Finally, I got the time to start on my flower garden quilt. I decided not to use all 25 flowers, I pulled out the duplicates. I wanted to fuse the flowers to the background but I knew it would take a lot of fusible so I had this roll of wonder under and thought I would give it a try.
It did take a while to get all those little snippets on the back of the flowers.
My plan was to lay the quilt in the floor and fuse the flowers to the quilt. Hubbykins had a stroke, he was sure I would scorch the carpet. Hello! I'm quilter I know how toiron press quilts. So I put it on the bed.
It looks like more flowers are on the left than on the right. So I'm thinking I might make some smaller ones for the right side. Anyway, my idea didn't work on the bed so I ended up pinning the flowers. I will be double checking A LOT.
This entry was pre-scheduled for about a week. Well, last Friday I had about 8 flowers applique'd and I got the urge to get this baby finished. All day I worked on the quilt taking a break about every 45 minutes because my back would start spasming. I put the duplicates back on the quilt but it is finished. Now the search for the perfect backing will start this afternoon. It isn't a huge quilt just big enough for me, 50" x 65" but I love it and look forward to using it.
I can't decide to quilt butterflies on it or birds. I really like the birds but butterflies would go better with the flowers.
I hope when the quilt if finished that my quilt holder is at home.

Crazy Quilt Pillow Friday.
I got one pillow top made. Unfortunately, I didn't get it quilted or the pillow stuffed. I sorta started playing with another project and ran out of time. I will add pearls to this also.
The drop cloth is kinda on hold. I've had a lot of trouble with the gathers and my hubby got tired of listening to me fuss and offered a pretty good idea. So I'm toying with his idea.

Ice cream
I thought Lacy needed a new towel and since it is so blasted hot in Texas I thought this little ice cream cone with the drip was perfect.

Believe it or not!
Can you believe these two adorable little boys got into a fist fight?
No pinching or biting, they were using their fist.
So Lacy did the only thing she knew to do, she called in the Dad. Lacy should have took pictures because even after Jon pulled them apart they were still trying to punch each other around Jon's legs.
Have a great Sunday!

"Frosty Flakes" BOM completed in 10 wks
Well, we do want it finished before Christmas. You will make 9 blocks and the 10th week we get the instructions to put the quilt together. This will be the perfect size project as your hexes are 1/2".
Come on you know you want to join in the fun. So run on over to As Sweet as Cinnamon for the instructions.
I'm off to add the stitching and beads to my first block.

Crazy Quilt Friday just got crazier
When Betsy and I started this project I wasn't sure what size quilt I would make. I was leaning towards a wall hanging. So I have enough blocks for a nice size wall hanging. I still need to sew them together but I'm still laying them out to decide how I want them. As soon as I know, I will share with you.
So are you wondering why I said crazy quilt Friday just got crazier? Well, because I have decided to make a table cloth for my little round table. I don't even know how to gather fabric. lol This is the top.
I did not want to embellish the top and it be bumpy because I will sit a small lamp on top of the table. I do know that I need at least the circumference of the table times two for the top row as I will gather that. I will probably have to work on this for a few weeks. So prepare yourself to be bored on Friday. This is the next row that I hope to get gathered this afternoon. Then the fun will begin.
Then when I get my drop cloth made I want to make a pillow to match. I think it will look good on my chocolate sofa with my red curtains behind it. Yes, my home has color. :D
