I mentioned that Betsy and I were making crazy quilt blocks. I made two and things happened and I stopped. Wednesday morning I had an email from Betsy inquiring if I was up for one block a week. Yes, ma'am. I needed that motivation. Sew here is my block for this week. If you would like to join in the fun, go to Betsy's blog and let her know.
What's with that little pucker at the bottom of the block? I'm hoping when I embellish the block the pucker disappears.
Here are the 3 blocks I have made. I really need to remember trim when I'm out and about. I also need to use less red.
Have a great weekend!
When you visit my blog you will find me blogging about the things I love;applique', crochet, quilting, photography, cooking, my three grandsons and my granddaughter.

One Flower Wednesday
Two more flowers bloomed in my garden this week.
Then I added some greenery to one of the flowers to see how I was going to like that shade of green.
Here are all the flowers I have made.
Happy stitching!

Fabric from a friend
I'm working very slowly on a crazy quilt. I don't know what size it will be yet, maybe just a wall hanging maybe a twin. I'm also going to make one for Lacy. Her's will definitely be a wall hanging. I've mentioned working on the crazy quilt a few times on my blog so when Yvette said she had some fabrics that were give to her that she would like to send to me, I jumped up and down. Well, not really I did get excited. lol Just look at all the pretties.
The ones below are my favorites.
Thanks, Yvette!

One Flower Wednesday
Just a few more flowers bloomed in my garden this week. By Saturday I had 2 more flowers and 5 background hexes.
Then another flower bloomed Monday giving me a total of 8 flowers.
And I got 12 hexes of "grass" made.
I've been looking at different Grandma's Garden quilts trying to decide how I want to put my garden together. I "think" I've come up with a plan. I would like to do a little of that this week to see how I like it.

One Flower Wednesday
Some times good plans just don't happen. I had every intention of working on my flowers every night but some nights I was just too tired. I was disappointed I only got 2 flowers made this past week. I did get lots cut out.

One Flower Wednesday
I'm having a blast making flowers, I hope it last. I now enough squares cut to make 17 flowers. I know I know! Monday night I had finished two flowers.
This was my first flower.
and this is the second flower.
Then Tuesday I made the flower. So far this is my favorite flower.
I cut too many squares so some of my flowers will be repeats but that doesn't bother me.
I need some info. How do you store your flowers? I know how many hexes I need to make the quit but how do I figure out how much I need for the background. I thought about buying 1 yard to start with.

Blogs
Reading blogs can get you into serious trouble. I have plenty to do and not enough time to do it. So why do I read blogs, because I have to. How else would I know what was going in the blogging world. Plus, I talk to the blogs. Yes, I know that sounds crazy. Can't you hear me? I agree with their fabric choices, lean into the monitor for a better look and in general wish I could hold the quilt in my hands.
So where is this going? Last week Betsy posted about One Flower Wednesday AND the post had links. Links require clicking. Well, I had to see the other flowers. Then I started thinking about all those hexes that turned into flowers. Then I started shopping for mylar hexagons. I couldn't help myself plus I needed to help the other bloggers. Since I haven't located any re-usable templates locally but I haven't gave up and there is still one more Joann's to check, I used freezer paper. I decided I would follow the tutorial that Lori Holt from Bee In My Bonnet posted. I just love that she used a paperclip. lol Lori has a part 2 tutorial that shows you how to sew the hexes into a flower.
I have squares cut for 5 flowers and I'm sewing 1 flower together. I think 6 flowers should hold me for a day or two. Plus the bag below holds any extra squares from where I might have cut too many squaress.
So where is the picture of my flower? You will have to come back for One Flower Wednesday.
