2012 Goals

For several weeks I've been thinking about what I want to accomplish in 2012. I really want to get the quilt tops in my closet quilted and I want to finish the projects that are just laying around. I'm not saying I won't start any new projects because I know I will. In no particular order:

I want to add a red border to this panel and scallop the edges. I have never did scalloped edges but I think it will be slow sewing.

I also want to do something with this panel.

I want to finish my hexagon quilt but first I have to take it apart.

Be Attitudes - finish Oct, Nov and Dec blocks.

Boot Bash - finish Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec blocks on mine and Lacy's quilts.

Quilt the following quilts

  • Aqua 10 Minute block quilt
  • Kites
  • Pretty 'n Pink
  • Sunbonnet Sue
  • Lazy Hearts
  • Ribbit
Things That I Love - need about 100 more blocks
Trains - I have no idea how many more blocks I need but I think about 30

As slow as I am that should keep me busy next year.

Happy New Year!

Pretty 'n Pink

I changed the last block on the Pretty 'n Pink quilt. I didn't like the pieced block.
And I goofed. I can't add obviously, I miscalculated when I was figuring the amount of fabric I needed to include the borders. Ugh! The pattern called for the same fabric in the blocks for the border and I don't have enough. I haven't decided what I'm going to do. The quilt without the borders measures 44" x 69 1/2", which would make a nice size throw.

Pretty 'n Pink

When I started this quilt in 2008, I wanted for my own but now I'm now so sure. Pink really isn't my color. I'm thinking this quilt may end up at Ms. Lacy's house. I have one more block, then I can add the borders and start applique'ing them.

January Goals

I've listed my goals on the right side bar for January. I know it doesn't look like much but it is a start and I don't want to be so overwhelmed with finishing projects that I can't have some fun. I just listed the name of the quilt on the sidebar but here is a more detailed list of what I need to complete.

  • Batik Hexagon-make more hexes, sew hexes together
  • Farm Quilt-finish blocks, add sashing between blocks (25 blocks total 10 completed)
  • My Flower Garden-finish typing
  • Pretty 'n Pink-complete last block, add borders, applique' borders
I will pull this back up the last blogging day of the month.

Happy quilting!!

Pretty 'n' Pink

Block 9 is as complete as it can be until the quilt is finished. It calls for flowers and I'm not sure if I will make fabric flowers or use yo-yos.

Pretty 'n' Pink

Block 8 is done. I wish I had lined the teapot, sugar bowl and creamer.

Pretty 'n' Pink

Remember this quilt top? This is the quilt top that my quilt group was doing as a BOM when I moved from NM. The group has long since finished their tops and some even have them quilted. Well, I've been working on mine again.

Block 7 was School Days and was lots of fun since it was applique'.

Block 8 is applique' with a tad of embroidery.

Happy quilting!
