Tote bags

The two younger kids needed "church bags". The bag needed to be big enough for two diapers and a bottle/cup with lid. I couldn't make Aiden and Chelsi a bag and not make one for Nikolas and Greg.

Enjoy your weekend!

Organizing

I had good intentions of organizing my fabric today, it has really got out of control. Guess what, it is still out of control because I found something fun to play with.

Isn't it pretty? I love the colors but it had no bottom and the top was unfinished. I searched through all of my fabric looking for more of what the little object was made out of. None was to be found.

I knew exactly what I would do with it but I had to go searching through the cabinets first until I found this.
Yep, it fit perfectly!

However, I found this fabric.
Oh dear! I thought this fabric was too pretty to cut, finally, I took the plunge. I added the bottom.
Trust me I was holding my breathe for fear my circle would be to big or too small. Then I made handles and finished the top.
Oh! The whip cream container!
The bag is taller than the container but I needed room for the project I was working.

Japanese Knot Bag

I had saw these bags around on the internet but I thought it was going to be small, so I didn't make one. Then Barb and I were chatting about the bag and Barb said "You will be surprised at how much you can get in this bag." OK, so I had to see if it would hold all my stuff.

So I went from this.

To this.
And everything that was in the Coach bag went into the Japanese Knot bag.
I'm looking for the perfect red fabric so I can make another.

A new purse

I started this bag a long time ago, it just wasn't turning out the way I wanted it to so I put it aside. I got it out one day as I had nothing to do wanted a new bag. I made the strap to thin so I don't use it very often.

A Little Bag

I needed a little bag just big enough for a tooth brush and the makeup I would need that day. Nothing appealed to me that I found on Pinterest. So I just made 2 10 minute blocks.
Have a great weekend!

A Bag

I was going to make a bag for myself but I messed up so I cut that part off, then the bag was too small for me. So the bag will go to a neighbor's grand daughter.

Purse

Lacy thinks I'm picky about my purse. Must only have 1 strap, no black or brown give me some color and the inside must be cloth. When I get tired of a purse and I don't have a new purse, I go back to old faithful.
I got tired of old faithful.I bet she weighs 10 lbs before I put all my junk important items inside. So I made me a new purse. I may add a snap. I'm sure glad Betsy sent this fabric to me.

Zipper

I finally gave a try to putting a zipper in a bag. I'm not sure what I did wrong but the bag will not close completely. I will try again SOMEDAY.

Friendship bag

This little bag dealt me a lot of grief. I don't like making things this small. However, I am pleased with the finished piece.

We were not required to fill the bag but I wanted to do a little something. I did this with my embroidery machine.

Have a great weekend!

Neighbors

I have the nicest neighbors. They sit and chat with me from time to time, they check on me and they are just super nice. Unfortunately, they will be moving from the area in Oct. and I will miss them terribly. I feel very fortunate to have meet Melanie and Robert.
Aren't they cute? So by now you are wondering why I'm telling you this. Well, because I wanted to do something for Melanie. Melanie and Robert love Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein. So I made Melanie a little tote bag.

Friendship bag

The first thing I did this morning, right after coffee of course, was make a friendship bag. It is very tiny. I will be making a few more but they will be larger. This will easily hold a bottle of water but not much else.

Happy quilting!

Bag

The bag is done. I love this bag and the pattern was super easy. 003 005 I will probably use Lucy's method for making straps on any future bags or totes that I make. 002

The lining I used is from a pattern for a purse and then hand sewed the lining inside the bag. 004I did refer to this tutorial from futuregirl.com when sewing the lining into the bag.

New project

I'm making this bag for Lacy. You can find the pattern over at Attic 24. Aren't the colors wonderful? All of Lucy's projects have bright wonderful colors in them. I started this bag Thursday morning (2/19), frogged it 3 times (frogging each project 3 times seems to be the normal process for me) before I got the stitches tight enough to suit me and this is how much I got done the first day. 008 I love the feel of this yarn and the bright colors. I'm secretly hoping there will be enough of this yarn for me a bag also. ;o
Note: The first day I did 13 rows and the stitches are tight, my fingers got sore. Maybe I will reconsider my secret wish. 001Here is the bag as of Sunday night.

Project bag

Finished crochet the bag part of my project bag. 1188 I don't know if you can tell from the photo that the bag is round. I want to sew a lining for the inside of the bag with a couple of pockets. I thought I would use fusible fleece on the back of the lining to help give the bag some shape. I've made plenty of bag linings but I've never made a bag lining and sewn it into a crocheted bag. Wish me luck!
